Why Cats Love Wand Toys

Cats are natural hunters, and amongst the most successful on Earth. Their speed, stealth, dexterity and lethality make them incredibly effective at catching prey. Hunting is how they sustain themselves in the wild, it is a way of life, something that comes so naturally to them that the instinct stays with them even if they live indoors. That is why cats love wands so much. A wand toy consists of a long stick that you hold in your hand, with an attached string or rope, and a toy on the end of the string. By moving the wand around, you can make the toy simulate the movements of cats' natural prey, which your cat will instinctively chase and catch. Cats love this, and it is great for their physical and mental health as it gives them exercise and satisfies their instinctive need to hunt. It is also a great bonding activity for you and your cat, and it’s really fun to watch their antics as they play! Cats will run, leap into the air, swipe with their claws, grab the toy and roll on the floor, as if they were hunting a real animal.
