The detachable magnetic attachment lets the cat do something many wand toys only imitate: separate the prey from the wand and carry off the catch. Use the telescoping pole to move the feather along the floor, around corners or briefly out of sight, then allow pauses before the pounce.
Supervise play and put the wand away afterward. A short hunt with a real ending is often more satisfying than motion that never resolves.
